THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL

A pilgrimage of the heart...

The Trip to Bountiful is the gentle, classic story of a woman's search for her past and a way to come to terms with her future. Carrie Watts is a sixty-three year old woman living with her son and daughter-in-law in a small apartment in Houston. Because of her heart condition, she must remain cooped up in a house that is not her own, with a daughter-in-law who is primarily interested in movie magazines and Carrie's social security check. Carrie's dream is to return to Bountiful, the small rural town where she raised her son and spent her happiest years. Carrie's quest to return to Bountiful before she dies is the universal search for self and meaning in a world that no longer values people past a certain age.
