| DESCRIPTION | Johanna Spyri's much-loved novel tells the story of a friendly, spirited orphan sent to live with her reclusive grandfather high up in the Alps. She manages to charm not only her grandfather but also everyone she meets, especially Peter, the goatherd. Then her selfish aunt returns and whisks her away to live as a companion to the sickly Clara, daughter of a wealthy Frankfurt family. Although Heidi grows to love Clara, she misses her grandfather, and he is desolate without her. But all ends happily in June Walker Rogers' dramatization. |
