DESCRIPTION

This lush musicalization of an Ingmar Bergman film is about the mid-summer dalliances of the middle-aged. Stephen Sondheim created a touching musical comedy of manners set in the early twentieth century, dealing with all the wonderful mistakes we make in love. The characters are victims of their social mores and must take a "weekend in country" to get in touch with their natures and each other. This nostalgic musical is sure to move audiences to laughter and tears and features the classic "Send in the Clowns."

Winner of 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
