COMMENTS: Lysistrata
appealed to me as a great comedy with an important social message.Though it is an ancient play, it has tremendous
relevance to modern times social cost of war, battle between sexes, and strength in
unity. For that reason, I have set it in
modern times. The play also appealed to me as an excellent project for community theatre. It has a large ensemble cast, a simple set, and a
strong female lead.
