SYNOPSIS:   SMILE is a hilarious musical send-up of beauty pageants and teenage angst...while 16 contendors are battling it out for Young American Miss, pageant-coordinator (and ex-Pageant loser) Brenda is facing her own 30something demons. Considered by most critics to be the "best musical to come out of the 80's" it features music by Marvin Hamlish and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman.
