UNARMED COMBAT 1: DAI CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP
INSTRUCTOR: Melissa Freilich

Ann Arbor Civic Theatre is offering a 13-hour introduction to unarmed stage combat techniques and performance.  Participants will have the chance to test for Level 1 Certification with Dueling Arts International.  DAI is a non-profit devoted to providing comprehensive training in the art of theatrical combat and is committed to the highest standards of safety and artistic integrity.  Students will need to attend all sessions to participate and be eligible for testing.

April 22 2 PM - 5 PM

April 23 11 AM – 2 PM

April 29 1PM – 5 PM

April 30 11 AM – 2 PM


This workshop is being taught by Melissa Freilich, Dueling Arts International Associate Instructor, and Society of American Fight Director Advanced Actor Combatant, and A2CT director and fight choreographer.

This workshop is open to those ages 18 and up, $75 for A2CT members and $85 for non-members. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required.

DIALECT WORKSHOP

INSTRUCTOR: Susie Berneis

A2CT veteran, Susie Berneis, actor and voice-over artist, is presenting a 3-hour introductory workshop on dialects for actor. The session will cover the basics of determining the correct dialect, applying it to text, and special tips and tricks. Great for those just learning to use dialects or those who need a brush-up.

The workshop is May 6 from 1-4 PM at the A2CT Studio and is open to all ages.

Cost is $25 for non-A2CT members, $20 for members

PHYSICAL CHARACTERIZATION WORKSHOP
INSTRUCTOR: Gerard Dzuiblinski

This three-hour workshop, taught by Gerard Dzuiblinski, Director of Theatre at Concordia University and performance and production instructor, will cover how to use physicality to create character. Actors will learn how to find their "neutral," create postures and gaits, and find character gestures.

This workshop is May 13 from 1-4 PM at the A2CT Studio and is open to all ages
