A2CT OFFERS A FREE WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG ACTORS

Ann Arbor Civic Theatre (A2CT), in collaboration with the Drama area of the Performing Arts Department at Washtenaw Community College, is offering a free workshop for young people interested in auditioning for non-musicals. The workshop will be held Saturday, March 27th, from 1-4pm at the Washtenaw Community College Liberal Arts Building, College Theater, room 175. The workshop is limited to 25 participants in grades 4-12, and Pre-registration is required by calling the A2CT office at (734) 971-2228 or by visiting the website at www.a2ct.org

As part of a grant from Pfizer to increase participation in Ann Arbor Civic Theatre, this workshop will focus on general auditioning topics for young actors, as well as specific tips on auditioning for A2CT’s Junior Theatre productions. Led by veteran Junior Theatre director Adrianne Clark, the workshop will cover many auditioning issues including preparation, on-the-spot character development, creative movement and improvs, and what not to do at an audition. This workshop will be particularly helpful for those interested in auditioning for Ann Arbor Civic Theatre’s Junior Theatre, and is designed for beginners as well as experienced actors.

Workshop leader Adrianne Clark is a teacher and veteran director of A2CT’s Junior Theatre, including last spring’s production of Just Like Us and the upcoming youth version of The Odyssey.
