Gala Event To Unite Yesterdays Performers, Todays Stars and Tomorrows Leaders
ANN ARBOR, MI Ann Arbor Civic Theatre (A2CT) celebrates 75 years of powerful performance and its exciting upcoming season with a Gala event on May 6 at the Towsley Auditorium on the campus of Washtenaw Community College. Past and present Civic Theatre performers, leaders and volunteers will join theater lovers, business supporters and city officials to enjoy an unforgettable evening of drama, song, dance, history and memories.
The Gala, sponsored by Borders Group Inc. and the Ann Arbor News, will begin with an exclusive pre-show champagne reception at 7 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and sponsors. The main event will begin at 8 p.m. One of Civic Theatres directors, Glenn Bugala, is compiling an all-star cast of past and present Civic Theatre performers and directors who will showcase scenes and songs from best of A2CTs 450-plus musicals and straight plays of the past 75 years.
Long-time A2CT member Ted Heusel will be honored for his achievements and contributions in directing and performing in A2CT productions for the past 50+ years. Attendees will enjoy a post-show dessert reception, where they will have the opportunity to mingle with community members and take a look at the theatres extensive display of archives including photos, posters, signed playbills and awards.
General admission tickets for the show are $25 a piece. Special $75 VIP tickets are also available which include reserved seating, the pre-show reception and special gifts as well as a tax-deductible contribution to Ann Arbor Civic Theatre. Many local businesses have already teamed up to support the event, including Paesanos Restaurant, Pelagos Taverna, Bella Vino and Buschs Valu Land.
