ANN ARBOR CIVIC THEATRE OFFERS A FREE WORKSHOP FOR PRODUCERS

Ann Arbor Civic Theatre is offering a free workshop for people interested in learning about producing shows for A2CT. The workshop will be held Saturday, January 24, from 1-4pm at the A2CT Rehearsal Studio, 322 W. Ann St. in Ann Arbor. Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling the A2CT office at (734) 971-2228, or by visiting the website at www.a2ct.org

As part of a grant from Pfizer to increase participation in Ann Arbor Civic Theatre, this workshop will focus on general production topics for musicals and straight plays, as well as specific tips on producing for A2CT. Led by veteran Civic producers John Reiser and Teresa Myers, the workshop will cover many production issues including creating and maintaining a budget, staffing, technical & organizational aspects, and specific A2CT requirements and expectations. This workshop will be particularly helpful for those interested in producing for Ann Arbor Civic Theatre. Although no previous theatrical experience is required, those attending should have an interest in the arts and an ability to organize. The producer for A2CT productions is a paid position.

In addition to the producing workshop, A2CT—in collaboration with the Drama Department at WCC and funded in part by Pfizer—will be offering free audition workshops for youth and adults in the winter and spring of 2004. Look for ongoing information on these workshops at www.a2ct.org.
