ANN ARBOR CIVIC THEATRE OFFERS A FREE WORKSHOP FOR DIRECTORS
Ann Arbor Civic Theatre (A2CT), in collaboration with Washtenaw Community
College, is offering a free workshop for people interested in learning about
directing for the stage. The workshop will be held Saturday, November 8th,
from 1-4pm at the Washtenaw Community College Language Arts Building, room 175.

As part of a grant from Pfizer to increase participation in Ann Arbor Civic
Theatre, this workshop will focus on general directing topics for musicals and
straight plays, as well as specific tips on directing for A2CT. Led by veteran
director and actor Glenn Bugala, the workshop will cover many directing issues
including choosing a show, casting, blocking, technical & organizational
aspects, and specific A2CT requirements and expectations. This workshop will
be particularly helpful for those interested in directing for Ann Arbor Civic
Theatre, and is designed for people with some theatrical experience.
Workshop leader Glenn Bugala has a rich and varied theatrical background.
He received a BA in Theatre from UM and a masters in Theatre Performance from
Purdue University. He has directed numerous award-winning productions at A2CT,
including The Front Page, A Midsummer Nights Dream, A Little Night
Music, and Tommy. Glenn also has a teaching certificate from the
State of Michigan, was the head of the drama program at Gabriel Richard High
School from 1998-2000 and recently directed a production for WCCs Musical
Theatre program..
In addition to the directing workshop, A2CTin collaboration with WCC
and funded in part by Pfizerwill be offering free audition workshops for
youth and adults in the winter and spring of 2004. Look for ongoing information
