In the summer of 2006, for seven
weeks during July and August, Ann Arbor Civic Theatre will be offering a hands-on workshop
on acting and analysis. During the sessions, participants will rehearse scenes
together, improvise, learn quick tricks of the trade and examine techniques for reducing
physical and vocal strain. The workshop is taught by A2CT's own Glenn Bugala, who
directed A2CT's critically acclaimed productions of Our Town, Tommy, A Midsummer
Night's Dream, Front Page, and A Little Night Music. (Read Glenn's Theatre Vita by clicking here.)
Who should attend? This class is designed for all levels! If you've never
acted and want to learn acting techniques that are simple and really work, this workshop
is for you. If you've been doing this acting thing for a while, but you've not
figured out yet what it is that an actor does after learning lines, this workshop is for
you. For that matter, if you are a veteran actor looking for simple and practical
techniques in analyis, this workshop will be for you too. Class size will be limited
to allow participants to work the craft in assigned scenes.
