Ann Arbor Civic Theatre announces a workshop on how to audition for plays in general and A2CT plays in particular. The workshop is free, and participants who wish to become Civic members will receive a discount on the membership fee. Session one takes place from 2-4pm Saturday, September 18, and an optional second session takes place from 2-4pm Saturday, September 25. Both sessions take place at the A2CT Studio, 322 W. Ann St., 48104. Register here or call the A2CT office at 734-971-2228.
Led by notable local actors/directors Wendy Wright and Debra Reichard, the first workshop session will teach participants the importance of first impressions, techniques for a dynamic audition, and getting to the heart of an audition scene. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in mock auditions and receive feedback. In the second—optional—session, participants will deliver a monologue chosen in session one and will receive feedback from the workshop leaders. Debra Reichard is directing A2CT’s fall production of To Kill a Mockingbird, and Wendy Wright is directing A2CT’s spring production of Hay Fever.
