synopsis

Certainty versus doubt: the result is a searing, Pulitzer prize-winning exploration of faith, power, and compassion. It’s 1964 and Sister Aloysius, the principal of a Catholic grade school in the Bronx, suspects that the parish priest has behaved improperly toward a young boy in the school. As Sister Aloysius investigates the potential misdeed, she draws in those around her and casts doubt among even the most faithful.
