synopsis

Justice collides with bigotry in the 50th Anniversary of the publication of Harper Lee's masterpiece of American literature. Atticus Finch, a widowed lawyer, chooses to defend a young black man accused of raping a white woman. It is the deep South in the 1950's, and the prospects for success are dim. Atticus' integrity never wavers, though, and he teaches his children—and the audience—a lesson in courage, compassion, and tolerance.
