synopsis

Irascible Mary Lennox is sent to her uncle’s estate in the country. Her only companion is the ailing Colin, who is confined to his bed. While wandering the grounds, Mary finds a secret garden. With the aide of gardener’s apprentice Dickon, Mary learns about nature and about the nature of love and redemption. Performed in University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens, this production weaves nature seamlessly into an unforgettable experience for young and old.
