SUMMER CAMP

A2CT has three camps this summer for kids from 2nd grade through high school seniors! See the lineup, and register below.

Global Spark!

Camp leader: Jenny Koppera

July 13-24, 2015

Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm

For kids in GRADES 2-6 (in the fall of 2015)

Cost: $260

Spinning Dot Theatre and A2CT are excited to bring you this interdisciplinary and interactive camp! Global Spark! combines theater arts, movement, music and visual arts as well as language skills in multiple foreign languages. The culmination of the camp is a performance crafted from top to bottom by the young people – thus providing them learning experiences in not only acting but choreography, directing, costumes, lighting, set design, producing, etc.

Make a Scene!: Scene and Monologue Performance

Camp leader: Kat Altman

July 13-24, 2015

Monday-Friday, 1pm-3:30pm

For kids in GRADES 4-9 (in the fall of 2015)
Cost: $240

What is subtext and what does it mean to an actor? Participants will learn how to convert words on a page into a wealth of information about characters, relationships, emotions, power dynamics, and pacing within a scene or monologue, and how to utilize that information in performance. Students will work on scenes and monologues throughout and will select a favorite to showcase in a performance on the final camp day.

Global + Theatre +Teens = G2T Camp

Camp leader: Jenny Koppera

August 10-21, 2015

Monday-Friday, 12:30-3:30pm

For teens in GRADES 8-12 (in the fall of 2015)

Cost: $260

Spinning Dot Theatre and Ann Arbor Civic Theatre are thrilled to invite teens to this revolutionary way of engaging in an experimental and global theatre experience. G2T pulls together specialists in theatre, movement, and music as well as visual, cultural, and language arts.  Teen driven, the process will grow into an original piece of theatre inspired by global issues, stories and art forms. Teen ensemble members will have the chance to experiment with languages, cultures, and all aspects of theatre including playwriting, acting, directing, producing, choreography, lighting, and set and costume design.

Register online below! You may also register by calling or visiting the A2CT office during business hours (M-F, 9am-4pm) at 734-971-2228. Partial scholarships are available; contact the A2CT office.
