Only 4 more 2010 Entertainment Books available
|
The Entertainment Books
were a big hit our first time offering them! We have only 4 books left
from our allotment. Because we sold enough books, we get all the profit from these
last four books. For a mere $20, you receive up to $17,000 in coupons and discounts! Call us or email us today to
get one of the last books available this year. Once we sell these,
there are no more until October. (If you want to order one for family
or friends out of the area, you can still do so by ordering online here, and enter our ID 965315.)

Got Rehearsal Space?
|
One of the biggest expenses Civic faces each season is renting rehearsal space for overlapping shows. With 13 productions each year, our rehearsal studio is in use year-round and we still have to find space for shows rehearsing concurrently.
This is where you come in. If you have a space that's not being used weekday evenings, consider hosting a troupe of responsible actors for a week or two. If you know of any space that might be loaned to us, let us know. The use of the space would be considered a sponsorship, and would net you (or a business you know) some free publicity and the satisfaction of helping a truly worthy cause.
In particular, we are looking for a space for rehearsals of The Laramie Project from April 6-15 and a space for rehearsals of How to Succeed from April 18-29 (Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7pm-10pm). The space for The Laramie Project needs to be big enough for 10-20 actors to move around in comfortably; the space for How to Succeed needs to be big enough to rehearse dance numbers (a piano is a plus but we have a portable one if not).
Please contact Cassie at 734-971-2228 (manager@a2ct.org) if you have a space or ideas for a space for rehearsals. Thanks!

Barbra's Wedding
|
 |
Can't wait for the Chili Cook-off? A2CT's Studio Series is serving up a deliciously off-beat and wildly funny comedy, Barbra's Wedding, directed by Matt Martello. Barbra's Wedding runs Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm from Feburary 5-13, with a 2pm matinee Sunday, February 7. Tickets are $10 for general seating and $15 for front-row, reserved seating. Studio Series passes are also available and get you 5 tickets for the price of 4! Tickets are available by calling or visiting the A2CT office (734-971-2228) or at the door of the Studio Theater at 322 W. Ann St. before each performance. Additional info is available at a2ct.org.
Barbra's Wedding is Hollywood insider Daniel Stern's take on the pitfalls--and pratfalls--of seeking fame in L.A.'s bloated celebrity industry. Out-of-work B movie actor Jerry (Erik Wright Olsen) and his long-suffering wife Molly (Elizabeth Mowers) live next door to Barbra Streisand. On the day of Barbra's wedding to James Brolin, Jerry is furious because he has not been invited to the wedding. During the course of the day, Jerry's obsession with the wedding and its possible impact on his acting career sends him into a frenzy of lunatic behavior that threatens to destroy not only is stagnant career but his marriage to Molly.
Looking for a whole evening of fun? Why not park at the Theater, walk over to one of Main Street Ventures' wonderful restaurants for dinner and head back for this rollicking comedy.
