In Steve Martin's wildly funny romp, Albert Einstein (David Widmayer) and Pablo Picasso (Matt Roney) meet in a Parisian café in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. The story line is fast and loose with the facts as the two geniuses muse on the century's achievements and prospects with infectious dizziness. Bystanders include a bartender (Adam Weakley) and his mistress (Mouse Courtois), an elderly philosopher (Jimmy Dee Arnold), Picasso's date (Heather Liebal), Picasso's agent (Mark Batell), an idiot inventor named Schmendiman (Trevor Maher), two other surprise female patrons (Alix Berneis and Allison Porta) and a time-warped singer (David Putman) who drops in to join the merriment.

"Picasso at the Lapin Agile" takes place November 19-22, 2009, at the University of Michigan's Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre. Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $10 for students, and $14 for all tickets on Thursday.  Tickets are available online or call us at (734) 971-2228.
