A masterful retelling of the original sensation, injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements. Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden); and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side."
Actors need only attend one of the general audition sessions (Saturday or Sunday), and should be available for callbacks. Auditions will start promptly at the posted time for each date. Please arrive early to complete audition paperwork. Be prepared to stay for the entire time. Vocal auditions will be the selected cuts from the show attached below. Accompaniment tracks may be found HERE. Actors should come prepared for a cold reading as well as ready for improvisational work. For improv work, be ready to move, collaborate, and create. Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely for the improvisational work. Be prepared to dance in either jazz shoes or gym shoes (no character shoes). Please bring a water bottle
Godspell is about building a community, so this show relies entirely upon the ensemble itself becoming a collaborative community!
