Want to know where our money is spent?

We present some pretty amazing shows, featuring hundreds of very talented community members. You might know all this.

But what you may not know is that it takes a great deal of funds to put together a performance from start to finish.

Did you know that it costs:

$2,000 on average to rent a theatre for performances

$1,000 in royalties for each play and

$5,000 in royalties for each musical

$2,000 to produce Junior Theatre productions, offering very low prices for kids and adults

$500-1,000 for costumes for each show

$3,500 or more per musical for musicians and music

$1,000 and dozens of volunteers to build each set

$1200 in printing costs for posters and programs

$3,000 for month's rent of our studio, office and shop

$200 to keep the phones on each month

$300 per month to keep the lights on and the saws buzzing

It adds up, doesn't it? Please consider donating today. Each of your donations adds up too, and helps us keep the curtain raised on community theatre!

Brian Parrish talks about his experience with community theatre:

I love doing community theater because even though the friendships you make might not last, they have a certain Energy that a normal friendship wouldn't have because you Know it won't last beyond the show. We are all of us living different lives and we happen to converge at this one point, this one time to pool our talents and create something magical. Something special.

Here's what one of our long-time members, Glenn Bugala, says about theatre:

We are confronted with this question in this society: Why do we do theatre? Why would we want to create something out of nothing--just because? Why so much energy over 'entertainment'? Through the casting and gathering of diverse individuals, we create something that no one else on the planet can create in exactly the same way, something that will be truly unique and our own. We are artists, and we do this because we love the camaraderie, we love to explore the hidden parts of our souls, we want to express something to the world, we have something to say, we want to turn our focus back on ourselves and hopefully discover what humanity is about and share it with others--raw and vulnerable. We do it because we LOVE it.

And see what Matt Berdahl says, in defense of live theatre:

There is something so different about theatre in modern day. It is a place to go to be affected --it's Live. That is rare. Theatre is not a movie. It’s a one and done experience. Whatever happens that night you see, a show with however many other people in the audience and cast and crew, that’s it. A million people can’t tweet about it as if it was a VMA performance. There is something grounding in that, and that is something artful that I appreciate.
