Professional performance, rehearsal, and creative space available for the Ann Arbor community. Whether you're staging a production or need a versatile studio for a workshop, we have the space for you.
Choose Your Rental Path
Option A: Standard Studio Rental
You pay a flat hourly fee and retain 100% of your ticket sales or revenue.
Option B: Pop-Up Events
A low-risk way to produce theatre. Instead of a rental fee, all profits from the event are paid to A2CT. Pop-up events are structured as a creative partnership between your production company and A2CT. To ensure a balanced and successful season for our community, we carefully review all pop-up proposals to ensure they complement our current programming and operational capacity.
Note: At least one pop-up organizer must be a current A2CT Member.
Our Space at a Glance
Location: 322 W. Ann St, Ann Arbor, MI.
The Black Box Studio: A versatile, intimate performance and rehearsal space.
Seating Capacity: Comfortably seats up to 45 guests (excluding cast and crew).
The Scene Shop: A dedicated space for building and preparing your production elements.
Pricing & Payments
Payment & Deposits: A 50% deposit is required upon signing your agreement to hold your dates. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your event.
Costumes, Props, and Sets
A2CT houses one of the area’s most extensive collections of period costumes, hand props, and furniture. Our Wardrobe Manager and Shop Steward are available to help you find the perfect pieces for your production.

Visiting Us (Site Visits & Logistics)
If you would like to schedule a site visit to view the studio, or need to schedule a pick-up or drop-off of rented items, please refer to our staff calendar below.

Important Note: To ensure someone is available to assist you, please always call or email ahead to schedule a specific time for your business. We cannot guarantee assistance for unscheduled walk-ins.

How to Start the Process
Ready to get started? Follow these three steps:
Check Availability: View our Studio Calendar to see if your desired dates are open.
Submit an Inquiry: Email rentals@a2ct.org. This is now the primary contact for all rental needs, including the Studio, Costumes, Props, and Scene Shop.
Finalize the Agreement: Once dates are confirmed via email, you will complete the Studio Use Agreement Online Form (or download the PDF Version).
