Take Ten: Playwriting Workshop
Ten-minute plays are a great way to get your feet wet in playwriting. They are also a unique drama form that is often sought after by theater groups across the country. This three-week workshop will go over the basics of writing plays such as format, characters, conflict, and dialogue, as well as submission and production opportunities. The workshop culminates with a showcase reading of the finished plays by actors.
Saturdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15 from 11am-1:30pm. Showcase tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025 at 7pm.
Cost: $75/person
Location: A2CT’s Studio 322 W. Ann St. Ann Arbor, MI
Classes will be capped at 12 participants, ages 18 or older.
Brian Cox Bio
Brian Cox is the artistic director of Pencilpoint TheatreWorks and producer of the popular storytelling event “Snapshots: Stories from Life.” He has directed and produced multiple new and 10-minute play festivals, including Fight Like A Girl and Ypsi-Thrive. He has had numerous 10-minute plays produced in festivals around the country. His full-length play Clutter received its world premiere at Theatre Nova in 2017 and received a Wilde Award for Best New Script.
