The Humans Synopsis

Tony Award-winning The Humans is, on the surface, a play about the Thanksgiving dinner of the extended Blake family. The family gathers at the newly-rented apartment in New York’s Chinatown of Brigid and Richard. Brigid’s parents, grandmother, and sister have come to celebrate the holiday with Brigid and Richard. As afternoon progresses into evening, the fears, foibles, and secrets of the family come to light, and the sinister undertones of the modern American family are exposed. Although the play deals with some serious topics, it is often laugh-out-loud funny, and the overlapping dialogue is snappy and utterly believable.
